    Real 2026 DFW Outlet Pricing

    | Job | Typical Price |

    |---|---|

    | Add 1 standard 120V outlet, extending existing circuit | $185 – $285 |

    | Add 1 GFCI outlet (kitchen/bath/garage) | $225 – $325 |

    | Add 1 dedicated 20-amp circuit + outlet | $325 – $525 |

    | Add 240V outlet for dryer/range (short run) | $385 – $685 |

    | Add 240V/50A outlet for EV or welder | $585 – $1,150 |

    | Add USB / smart outlet (in place of standard) | $145 – $195 |

    | Whole-room outlet addition (4–6 outlets) | $850 – $1,650 |

5 Variables That Change the Price

    1. Run distance from panel or nearest existing box

    10 ft = easy. 40 ft through a finished 2-story = 3x the labor.

    2. Attic vs slab-only home

DFW homes with accessible attics are cheap to work in. Slab-only with no attic (some Fort Worth ranches, most townhomes) requires more drywall cuts.

    3. Dedicated circuit vs extension

Extending an existing circuit is fast but only OK if the load allows. Kitchens, laundry, bathrooms must have dedicated circuits under current code.

    4. GFCI/AFCI requirement

Anywhere in bedrooms, living rooms, kitchens, baths, garages, outdoor — modern code requires GFCI or AFCI protection. Adds $35–$85 per circuit.

    5. Drywall repair

We patch the holes we cut with mesh and setting compound. If you want paint-ready smooth finish, add $75–$150. Full painting isn't included.

What "Adding an Outlet" Actually Involves

    1. Verify existing circuit isn't overloaded (load calc)

    2. Cut opening for new old-work box

    3. Route new cable from source (existing outlet, junction, or panel)

    4. Wire per NEC, torque to spec

    5. Install outlet + faceplate

    6. Test with plug-in tester + hot/neutral/ground verification

    7. Patch drywall cuts (mesh + mud)

Takes about 45–90 minutes per outlet for typical work.

When You Need a Whole Circuit, Not Just an Outlet

  1. Kitchen countertop (must be 20A GFCI dedicated)
  2. Laundry (dedicated 20A)
  3. Bathroom (dedicated 20A GFCI)
  4. Microwave, dishwasher, garbage disposal (each dedicated)
  5. EV charger, welder, window AC over 12A
  6. Home office with multiple monitors + workstation
  7. Save Money By Batching

Our trip fee applies once per visit. Book 4–6 outlet jobs at once and you'll pay $850–$1,650 total vs. $185+ each à la carte.
